Reduce Your Effort
THEE is biologically-based (like grammar) and taxonomic frameworks work perfectly well unconsciously (like grammar). An easy way to notice this is to observe how the frame of reference jumps about and naturally adjusts the function of any particular experience.
Example:
Mostly, you do not require to be self-consciously aware of any THEE element or framework. Just apply your common sense and what you know—while staying aware generally, and keep learning from experience.
But what if you are blocked? What if things are going inexplicably wrong? Or you want to do much better? Your intuitions may then be obstructing you. This happens if there are distortions due to conventional wisdom or painful past experiences. Whenever it seems that you are missing something, THEE frameworks can be useful.
But let's look at this differently. The THEE Online Project has been broadly designed to enable you to reduce effort by becoming stronger, that is to say:
● become more autonomous and creative
● enlarge the scope of your awareness
● think for yourself where you are responsible
● recognize and respect your own nature and tendencies
● handle yourself and others well, especially in tricky situations
● resist pressures and ignore inappropriate reassurance.
Take the Initiative
If you are responsible for a business or large project involving many people, taking a laid-back approach is not possible. If you fail to adequately manage your needs, combat your fears, or face uncertainties, then you become part of the problem. If—or, life being what it is, when—things become a mess, it will be necessary to make certain matters explicit.
That means gripping the relevant framework intuitively or explicitly. Sometimes it will be rather obvious which one is relevant, while at other times you may have to explore and experiment.
Once aware of the relevant framework, you have to understand it deeply and personally. Only then can you consider how to apply it. If you are not in charge, you can still benefit from a clearer vision that lets you handle yourself more constructively. If you are in charge, then you can lead the group out of the mess by introducing greater clarity and moving with the grain of human functioning.
Remember that unless an idea becomes yours, at least temporarily, you cannot focus and reflect on it. So do not approach the material passively. Do not expect to agree with everything at first skim. Reading so as to understand requires work. You may get as much (or more) benefit from reshaping or even rejecting propositions as from accepting them.
Don't force it: the unconscious is powerful, and if you try to impose a framework on yourself without understanding it properly, then it will not succeed. This applies double to others: language within a group must be genuinely agreed and the underlying ideas must be understood in a relevant way.
If you find what looks like an error in any THEE Framework, discuss it with others. You may get your intuition confirmed, or get a response that readjusts your thinking.
Artificial Intuition
THEE is the coherent objective mapping of those domains within personal functioning and social endeavours that permit reflective awareness. By focusing on relevant elements or maps within THEE, the user develops intuitions spontaneously i.e. THEE Frameworks provide support for «artificial intuition».
Intuition is normally based on past experience and often fails in new situations requiring an innovative response. It is impossible (by definition) to use intuition to generate a counter-intuitive notion. However, by engaging calmly with a THEE Framework, our mind gets activated in a different way. Positivity develops and our creativity starts producing ideas. The result may be obvious common sense or it may be surprising and counter-intuitive.
Using counter-intuitive notions requires a degree of willingness and flexibility. We must accept that frustration or failure may be caused by our preferences or even our strengths: perspectives, beliefs, conventional knowledge, past experience.
Expanding intuition through expanding awareness depends on a willingness to wonder, to engage the imagination and to discuss so as to understand. You can do so here via an internal dialogue or turn to family, friends and work colleagues.
Life is unimaginably complex and intrinsically unpredictable. In using any taxonomic knowledge, you are making an intervention in a situation that is never as simple as it seems.
